So you’re spending the next few days in glorious Lake Chelan and you want to shop locally as much as you can? We can help!

Patronizing local businesses while you’re on vacation helps keep them going year-round and you won’t find better customer service anywhere else! Many of our favorite businesses are just starting to open back up after months of closure. By shopping locally, you’re helping these shops we know and love get back into the swing of things. We thought we’d give you some tips for shopping locally during your stay with us.

Groceries

Keep it local by stocking up for the week at some of our favorite local markets.

If you’re staying near Manson, you’ll find everything you need at the Manson Red Apple Market just off Manson Highway. Friendly faces and a wide selection await you. Don’t leave without grabbing something from the cafe inside! If you’re staying in Chelan, head downtown to Bear Foods Natural Market. You could spend hours wandering through every aisle and checking every nook in the store. Cap off your trip with a bag of fresh-popped popcorn seasoned your way or a crepe from the attached creperie. We also recommend the Meat Shop for quality meats and Culinary Apple in downtown Chelan to round out your grocery shopping!

Farmer’s Market

Both Chelan and Manson have their own farmer’s markets where you can pick up fresh produce.

In Manson, you’ll find the market at the Manson Grange on Wapato Way on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 8:30 am through the summer months. In Chelan, the Chelan Evening Farmer’s Market begins at 4 pm on Thursdays on the corner of S. Emerson St. and Wapato Avenue. Meet local vendors and browse local goods from fresh fruits and veggies to artisan bread to handmade soaps. Stock up so you can head back to your rental to cook up a fresh meal paired with local wine, good company, and stunning views!

Souvenirs & Vacation Goods

Slowly but surely, our beloved shops are beginning to open up with social distancing measures in place.

Your shopping trip may not look like it has in the past, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a little bit of Lake Chelan back home with you.

If you’re looking for something to commemorate your trip to Lake Chelan, duck into Swim World on Woodin Avenue in downtown Chelan for stickers, mugs, hats, and more or Shirt Shop Plus for custom Lake Chelan apparel. If you’re in need of a good vacation read, head to Riverwalk Books to peruse the latest bestsellers and new releases. You’ll walk out with a perfect beach read, thanks to the booksellers’ recommendations! If you’re vacationing with kids, they’ll fall in love with the upstairs wonderland. Trust us when we say you’ll have a hard time leaving without half the store.

Drinks

This one seems like a no-brainer, right?

The Lake Chelan Valley is home to some of the region’s best wine. While you’re here, make sure to take advantage of the delicious wine. Currently, many wineries are open for curbside pick-up, so you can pick up your favorite bottles to bring home with you. If you’re not into wine, pick up a growler and bottle from one of the local breweries, like Stormy Mountain Brewing or Lake Chelan Brewery, or cideries, like Rootwood Cider or Steelhead Cider. To see your full list of options, check out the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce Ale and Cider page.

Stocking up for your vacation or buying souvenirs is easy when you’ve got amazing local businesses like the ones right here in downtown Chelan and Manson. Happy shopping!
